Inversis wanted the freedom to spin up a virtual desktop from anywhere in the world. Zoi helped Inversis to adopt Amazon WorkSpaces within their organization by migrating their infrastructure from on-premise to the AWS Cloud using a combination of a re-platforming and lift & shift approach. Inversis are now able to manage desktop deployment centrally for all users.

ACCESSING BUSINESS-CRITICAL INFORMATION
In the modern day, access to information is critical. Not only that but being able to access information from anywhere in the world is becoming more important. With the rise of remote work, it has become a challenge for businesses to grant their employees access to information used for the daily operations of the business. It is not only a challenge to provide remote workers with access to information, but also to provide access securely and reliably.
Inversis wanted to tackle this issue and sought the advice of Zoi who, as an AWS Premier Tier partner, are experts in cloud-based solutions and migrations that address Inversis’ issues.
MIGRATING TO AMAZON WORKSPACES
Amazon WorkSpaces is a fully managed and secure Desktop-as-a-Service (DaaS) solution provided by AWS. It allows users to provision cloud-based virtual desktops that can be accessed from any supported device, including Windows and macOS computers, Chromebooks, and even tablets.
Migrating to Amazon WorkSpaces offers several advantages for organizations and individuals looking to enhance their IT infrastructure including remote work enablement, security & compliance, scalability and flexibility, and more. All of these things are backed by a cost-efficient pay-as-you-go model and reduced hardware costs.
A TRIED AND TRUE MIGRATION PROCESS
All of the users at Inversis were migrated from VMware on-premise to the market-leading AWS Cloud. The same applications that employees were used to using were migrated to the cloud as a combination of a re-platforming and lift & shift project. In this way, there was minimal adaptation needed by employees.
The migration went through 3 phases: Assess; Mobilize, Migrate & Modernize. In the end, more than 180 Power Workspaces were set up in AWS over 4 weeks. Additionally, an FSX NetApp ONTAP was set up for file-sharing purposes and several EC2 Windows servers.
Inversis are now able to enjoy the flexibility of Amazon Workspaces which affords them the ability to provision their employees centrally in a secure, agile, and cost-effective way.
